JLG Enterprises, located in Oakdale, California, USA, is more than a lot of bull! In fact, it’s one of the nation’s largest custom, semen collection organizations. In fact, JLG Enterprises is the only semen collection facility west of the Mississippi qualified to send semen to Europe and Canada. JLG owners, Jack Lerch and Larry Gerber, collect and house over 250 bulls for dairymen and A.I. organizations. JLG has been home to Arlinda Rotate, Exranco Thor, Highlight Converse, Marcrest Encore, J-L-G Grandslam and, most recently, Veeman-Dairy Mascot Loue.

Besides offering excellent care and collection facilities, JLG also samples bulls for clients. After collecting semen, they distribute it into 40 to 50 California herds—hoping to get one or two daughters from each herd in the bull’s proof. Once the bull proves out, JLG usually becomes partners with the dairymen and helps them lease the bull to an A.I. organization.

Another JLG enterprise is JLG Holsteins. Jack and Larry own about 45 head from well-known maternal lines with the credentials to prove it. Their cornerstone family is anchored by Sleepy Hollow Great #1 the dam of their popular sire J-L-G Grandslam. This maternal enterprise allows Jack and Larry to support their customer base and get more involved with the maternal side of the equation.
